Individual and Family Health Insurance

At Tomlin Benefit Planning, our goal is to help out clients obtain a better understanding of their overall health insurance needs. We work directly with you to tailor a health insurance package that will fit your budget.

As you may know, health insurance rates are state regulated. This means that you will pay the same premium for health insurance whether you buy through us, go directly to the carrier, or purchase online. However, by speaking with us, you will have a greater understanding of the level of benefits available to you, as well as a much higher level of service — all at no additional cost to you.

The team at Tomlin Benefit Planning is here to help you design a health insurance program that you will understand, feel comfortable with and that will maximize your protection for the budget you’re willing to invest.

Initial Review of Your Current Coverage

We make it easy for you to determine your options.

Here's How It Works:

We sit down with you to learn what you currently have for insurance and how well it’s working for you and your family. If our advisors feel that your current plan is better than the options we can provide from the Marketplace, we will always advise that you stay with your current program.

Think of us as your personal health insurance shopper! We help you review and compare insurance plans side by side. We will help point out the differences in product, access, and service from one carrier to the next. Our goal is to help you select a plan that will fit your needs as well as your budget.

When you select us to help you apply for coverage, our services continue through the application process. We understand that no one enjoys filling out applications, but if your application is completed incorrectly, any missing or questionable information may cause lengthy delays in the underwriting of your policy. At Tomlin Benefit Planning, we know what information the insurance company need to know in order to review your application. Part of our service is ensuring that your application is correct and complete before it is sent to the insurance carrier for review.

Our Service Is Focused Upon You

Service is what sets us apart.

Medicare Supplemental Insurance

Medicare is basic health coverage that is provided by the US government. Basic Medicare can leave you responsible for additional health care expenses, such as deductibles, 20% co-insurance (unlimited), and excess charges. Because basic Medicare has these gaps in coverage, many consumers seek out Medicare supplemental coverage policies.

What Kind of Medicare Supplemental Policies Are There?

Medicare can be confusing. We are here to help!

Supplemental Insurance Has Mandated Guidelines

Medicare supplemental coverage plans are all offered according to the guidelines mandated by the government. These plans are named for letters of the alphabet and range from “A” through “N”. Depending on the plan you select, it covers all or some of the gaps left behind by basic Medicare. None of these plans currently provide prescription (Rx) coverage.

Tomlin Benefit Planning stays up-to-date on all facets of Medicare and Medicare Supplemental insurance policies. We’re here to assist you with your health insurance needs, and make sure you get your questions answered.

Remember, our goal is your complete satisfaction. You may rely on us to continually strive to live up to this standard.

Group Health Benefits for Your Employees

At Tomlin Benefit Planning, we understand that employers and human resource teams have a lot of choices when it comes to buying group health insurance, including going directly to a carrier (or one of its agents), buying online, or going through a broker like us at Tomlin Benefit Planning.

Direct-to-carrier paths make it more difficult to shop the market across product lines, and buying online can leave the human resource team responsible for navigating “representative” quotes, difficult terminology, compliance and ongoing service issues. Good brokers, on the other hand, have the market, compliance and prodcut knowledge to help you save money and appropriately manage risk.

Trust us to help you find the right plan for your business.

We offer years of hands-on experience, tools, resources and one-stop shopping among multiple carriers.

Our Value Proposition:

Our primary job is to orchestrate the competition of insurance carriers by compiling a complete and accurate submission of what your company is looking for, and to make sure that each carrier receives the same information. Think of us as your personal insurance shopper.

In addition, a good broker can provide additional insights to you on the carrier’s strengths, weaknesses, and past performance. But, wait! There’s more.

Our advisor’s service to you will continue after the bid process. Depending on the broker and the relationship, brokers will assist their clients with claim difficulties, employee communications, notify and explain upcoming and current regulations, risk management and all other areas relating to benefits and compensation. In our business, we also provide many tools and resources to help your human resource department or tasks because benefits and HR go together. When one is functioning at a high level, it supports the efforts of the other.

Long-Term Care Insurance: An Investment For Your Future

By definition, Long Term Disability is the inability to care for oneself for an extended period. An individual’s inability to perform the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) can be a life-changing and sometimes devastating event. The need for coverage against this sort of loss is great. With a Long Term Care plan in place, the patient and family members can rest assured knowing that financial security will not be put at risk should the policyholder or any covered dependents sustain a debilitating and costly-to-treat illness. Individuals who experience conditions covered under LTCi plans will be well cared for even if loved ones cannot assume daily caretaker needs.

The Dilemma of Long-Term Care

Few people want to imagine that they could be faced with the need for long-term care.

But The Odds Are, You Will Need Long-Term Care In Your Lifetime.

statistics suggest it is best to be prepared. 70% of all individuals over age 65 have experienced at least one LTC event and 40% of these cases are under 65. These events can be short-term events lasting less than one year or they can last 4 to 5 years.

Think of us as your personal health insurance shopper! We help you review and compare insurance plans side by side. We will help point out the differences in product, access, and service from one carrier to the next. Our goal is to help you select a plan that will fit your needs as well as your budget.

The concept that “this will never happen to me” is losing ground. As the average life expectancy increases, most senior citizens and many others have to deal with a LTC event. Many of these events are manageable, but the costs of managing and treating them can be staggering.

LTC may not be right for everyone. Some individuals cannot meet the requirements due to existing medical conditions. Others would rather take the risk and pay for services from their own capital and assets. There is no right answer. Ultimately, each individual must determine his or her risk tolerance. But it is important for those investing in retirement to consider LTC so they an make informed decisions on their own.

Remember, our goal is your complete satisfaction. You may rely upon us to continually strive to live up to this standard.

Dental, Vision & Hearing Insurance Benefits

Although Medicare provides a range of health care benefits to seniors and those with disabilities, it does not cover routine teeth cleaning, vision tests, hearing tests and similar procedures. There are some Medicare Advantage plans, however, that provide preventive coverage for dental, vision and hearing, but those under an original Medicare plan must find other coverage options.

We're your personal insurance shopper.

There is no difference in premium by letting us help you find the right package for your needs.

Here's How It Works:

We sit down with you to learn what you currently have for insurance and how well it’s working for you and your family. If our advisors feel that your current plan is better than the options we can provide, we will always advise that you stay with your current program.
